It only happens once every 18 years. A Blood Moon, Super Moon with an eclipse. Also known as the Super Blood Moon. Earlier in the day, I scouted my location at the base of South Table Mesa in Golden, Colorado. It’s about 9.5 miles from Denver and found my spot in aligning the Super Blood Moon with the Mile High City. For the last so many years, I’ve been up and down the front range photographing the moon over Denver like the Moon Me Denver, The Strawberry Moon, and the 2013 Super Moon. Unfortunately, this particular angle hides one of Denver’s most iconic buildings, the Wells Fargo Center. Also known as “The Cash Register Building”. Oh well, there’s always next time… um… 18 years later. Though by then, you may have to help me up the hill!

Just as the Super Blood Moon was at it’s peak Eclipse, it hid behind the clouds. But, it revealed itself once again just enough to see it finish the spectacular show.

Very cool. We live in the Florida Gulf Coast and it was too cloudy to see it, glad you captured it for us!
