Seaside Florida

Seaside, FL
Can a photographer simply go on vacation to relax and not worry about taking pictures? The answer is no. At least not this photographer. But, I think I managed to balance my time between chasing the sunrise and lounging on the beach in Seaside, Florida. The same place where the 1998 movie, The Truman Show, was filmed. If you look around closely, you can still see places where some of the film was shot. Like the iconic Colman Tower, the Modica Market, the post office, and of course the house where Truman lived. Which still has the prop address of 36, even though the correct address is 31. I won’t bore you with an hour long slide show of vacation photos. But here are a few selects that I think is worth sharing.

Did you build the sand castle as well? I think the waves on the beach should be blown up life size and cover a whole wall! What a stress buster that shot is! Great shots Steve.

Thank you Vicki! I can’t take credit for the sandcastle. Only the photo.

Your pictures are awesome, I live just down the street at Seacrest Beach, just next to Rosemary Beach. I photograph as a hobby, I wish I had your skills!

It’s funny, I biked from Rosemary to Seaside on Monday. This morning I biked the PCB Conservatory, just off Hwy 98.

You can see some of my pics on my blog at http://webetripping.wordpress.com. I also keep a set a travel pictures at http://www.webetripping.com/OurTravels.asp.

I looked at your website more today, man you are good! I still have so much to learn about the camera (Nikon d5100) and how and when to use different aperture and ISO settings.

OK Steve, I am now jealous of all the places you’ve been! Very cool! And what I want to know is, how did you manage to get all those up top shots of Seaside??? Those are some of the shots I wanted to get while I was there!

Thank you Sara. It was actually my first time at Seaside and could definitely see myself going back again. And I’m always up for a photo shoot. But fair warning… I like to shoot at sunrise! 🙂

Thank you Sara! I’ll take one of those houses on the beach in Seaside. But… I’ll need to sell a lot of photographs first!

Great pics Steve! If you want to come take some shots of beautiful Oregon, give us a call. Your room is still available, just not in New Mexico anymore. =) We’re in the Portland area now.
