After spending the past few nights trying to capture the sunset under the clouds, I looked to the South from my yard and thought, “Huh… those are not clouds”. Grabbing my gear, I hiked up Green mountain to get a better view. The wildfire is about 45 miles southwest of Denver and can be seen for miles. Nearly 400 homes have been evacuated as the 50 mph winds have been fueling the wildfire.
*UPDATE* As of this writing, March 31st, the fire is 70% contained and 4150 acres have burned. What started out as 400 homes to be evacuated grew to over 1000. 26 homes have been destroyed. 180 homes are still under the evacuation order.
