So I got myself a new ND filter for my lens which allows me to take long exposures during the daytime. And I couldn’t wait to try it out. It was about 7:00 last night and I looked outside and thought, there are some nice clouds right now. So I quickly packed up my gear and headed to Lookout Mountain to catch the sunset so I can try out my new filter. And after a bit of trial and error, I got a pretty decent shot of the sunset over the mountains.
I pack up my gear and started heading back down the mountain. But there was one shot that I’ve been wanting to get for years and decided to pull off and hike up a different section. There is a switchback that I always thought would be cool if I got above it and photographed the cars going through. So I put on my headlamp and made my way through the dark to see if I can get to a spot overhead. So the one thing I learned, was next time to bring pepper spray. Because I’d like to think that was just a deer making its way over the mountain and not something else! 🙂

This ended up being a 4 minute exposure. Which give the clouds that effect. |
