After a failed attempt on friday to catch the fireworks over Denver (see last photo), I called a friend of mine, Paul Skach who knows Denver inside and out, where I can get a good shot of Denver with the fireworks from Coors Field. Well, he knew exactly where I needed to be. He made a phone call to a friend of his who owns the Highland Tavern and ask if we can get up on the roof to take pictures. So, I had this picture in my mind about seeing these huge firework displays over Denver. So I hiked about a mile up Green Mountain, set up my 400mm lens and waited. It was a clear night and thought for sure I’m going to get the shot I had envisioned. 9:15 comes around and here we go…. Uh….hmm… That’s not what I had in mind. Believe it or not, the small fireworks you see here is at Coors Field. The same location I was at the second night. Oh well, at least I got in a good hike.
