2863 photos taken, 2530 miles driven, 14 different abandoned locations, 9 days on the road, 2 dog vs. car chases, and 1 giant Kansas King Cobra. Well, in my mind, it might as well have been! More on that later!
Some people like to spend their spring break in places where it’s warm, with beautiful sandy beaches. Me? I chose a cold, road trip through Kansas and Iowa. I did manage to get somewhat of a sunburn! Although most people just call it windburn. Well anyway, after months of planning and even talking to a few property owners (that wasn’t easy), it was time to rollover last years vacation time and head out on the road for what I call the Abandoned Midwest Road Trip Adventure. Joining me half way through the trip was my good friend Eric from Des Moines, IA. Since part of the trip was over Easter, as you can see, we had a little fun.
There are so many photos and stories to tell, it’s a bit overwhelming. But over the course of the next few months, those abandoned photos and stories will be shared. Including the Kansas King Cobra one. I swear… there’s got to be such a thing, right? 🙂
