25th Annual Louisville National Photography Show

Steve Hirsch

I’m thrilled to announce that “Night Mining” received an Artistic Achievement award Saturday night at the 25th Annual Louisville National Photography Show. “The Barn Out Back” was also in the show but did not place. There were 800 submissions and only 100 were invited to show. There was so much talent in the room and I really enjoyed talking to the fellow photographers.

“Night Mining” was photographed up near Leadville, CO and is one of my favorite abandoned mines. It is about a 20 second exposure to capture the stars. During that time, I fired off a very high powered strobe. For more of the story, visit the original blog post here.

“The Barn Out Back” is another personal favorite of mine. On a photography road trip to Montana, I passed by this unplanned location and it turned out to be one of the best stops along the trip. For more of the story, visit the original blog post here.

Small to large matted prints are available along with larger canvas gallery wraps. Custom pieces are available too. Please check out the store!
